Scholarship Types

Academic Excellence

Up to $5,000

Awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and a commitment to educational excellence.

Eligibility
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Full-time enrollment
  • Two letters of recommendation

Community Leadership

Up to $3,000

For students who have shown exceptional leadership in their communities and dedication to service.

Eligibility
  • 100+ volunteer hours
  • Leadership role in organization
  • Community impact essay

STEM Achievement

Up to $4,000

Supporting students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.

Eligibility
  • STEM major declared
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Research or project experience
How to Apply

Application Process

Follow these steps to submit your scholarship application

Review Eligibility

Review the eligibility requirements for each scholarship type to determine which scholarships you qualify for.

Gather Documents

Collect all required documents including transcripts, letters of recommendation, and proof of enrollment.

Complete Application

Fill out the online application form completely and accurately. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

4

Submit & Wait

Submit your application before the deadline. Recipients will be notified within 6-8 weeks of the deadline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Students who are enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, and demonstrate community involvement are eligible to apply for our scholarships.

Yes! You may apply for any scholarships for which you meet the eligibility requirements. We encourage students to apply for all scholarships they qualify for.

Scholarship recipients will be notified via email within 6-8 weeks of the application deadline. All applicants will receive notification of their application status.

Scholarship funds are distributed directly to the recipient's educational institution to be applied toward tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses.

Pearls of Power, Inc. academic scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who will enroll for the first time at a four-year, accredited college or university located in the United States.

All scholarships are based on the following criteria:

  1. Academic achievement
  2. Leadership
  3. Community service
  4. Essay
  5. Need
  6. Other criteria as noted below and, on the application.

All scholarships are $1,000.00 and must be used for tuition, books, electronic classroom items (computers, tablets, etc.), supplies, fees. etc.

Applicants can only apply through My Scholarship Central.  The deadline for each academic year is May 15th.

NOTE:  The application deadline for 2023-2024 scholarships is May 2023.


Susie Haire Mann Scholarship 

The Susie Haire Mann Scholarship is named in honor of a former president of Delta Delta Omega chapter who endowed a scholarship for many years. It it is our honor and privilege to continue her legacy of providing financial assistance to (2), African American students who attend a historically black college or university (HBCU).



Delbert & Esther Loy Memorial Scholarship

The recipient is a scholar athlete or scholar involved in 2 or more extracurricular activities.



Traci Gardner Memorial Scholarship

The recipient will be a high school graduate planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university.



Pearls of Power Excellence in Education Scholarship


The recipient is a student who has exemplified outstanding academic achievement.


Irene Loy Excellence in Business Administration Scholarship 

The recipient is a student whose major is business- or business-related field such as Public Relations, Advertising, Sales, Marketing, Accounting, etc.



Pearls of Power Excellence in Leadership & Community Service Scholarship

The recipient must demonstrate leadership and excellence exemplified through academic achievement and extracurricular activities including commitment to community service. Applicants must provide documentation/verification of leadership achievements and volunteer service demonstrated within the community and at school. The recipient of this scholarship may be an entering freshman or current sophomore, junior or senior in college.
